Portion control is one overwhelming contributor to obesity in America. While living in Paris and eating at a number of cafes, I noticed that while the food was richer than most food served in the US (cream sauces, butter, etc), the portion sizes were significantly smaller. Balance, variety and moderation help aid in a healthy lifestyle and diet. In the dish pictured, I cooked filet mignon, wrapped in bacon and topped with sautéed shrimp. To accompany the surf a d turf, I cooked au gratin potatoes and fresh asparagus. Would I recommend eating a "heavy" meal like this every day? Absolutely not. But in moderation and smaller portions, one can enjoy all types of food while living a healthy lifestyle.
Love y'all!! ♥
